13 Most Beautiful... songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests – Dresses by Dadadress.
Commissioned by the Warhol museum, Dean & Britta will be performing music composed by them for this event beneath projections of 13 Warhol silent film portraits, “The Screen Tests.”
Andy Warhol's Screen Tests, which number approximately 500, are revealing portraits of hundreds of different individuals, shot between 1964 & 1966. The subjects - both famous & anonymous - were visitors to his studio, the Factory. They were filmed by Warhol with his stationary 16mm Bolex camera on silent, black & white, 100-foot rolls of film. Each screen test lasted only as long as the roll of film. The resulting 2 3/4 minute films were then projected in slow motion so that each lasted four minutes.
Dean & Britta will perform with their band, Anthony LaMarca & Matt Sumrow.
